During the holidays, I do a lot of cooking which makes me plenty tired – so tired I put off blogging until the next day that turns into the next week that turns into the next month. The next month almost turned into the next year, but I found an easy to blog recipe to share with you that goes so well with the Christmas season – homemade hot chocolate!
I’m sure there are a plethora of ways to make hot chocolate from home, but I am not a fan of plain chocolate or double chocolate and certainly not too much chocolate so I found this recipe absolutely perfect for me. I don’t like chocolate on it’s own – for me, it must be paired with mint or peanut butter or nuts or something else that makes the sum of the two parts greater than chocolate could ever be on it’s own.
This recipe came from the Hershey box. I figured who better to look to for a hot chocolate recipe than THEE chocolate connoisseurs. I altered it to my taste only slightly and added flavored extracts for more of a twist on the classic recipe.
I found this recipe quick and easy to make and you can make it your own by adding whatever flavoring you like in your hot chocolate. Why pay Starbucks for peppermint mocha, caramel brulee or gingerbread lattes when you can replicate it yourself at home with less caffeine and way cheaper? What flavors will you try?
